Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Alok Sharma on Thursday filed his nomination papers from the Bhopal parliamentary seat for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and asserted that Lotus (BJP symbol) will bloom in all the 29 seats in the state.
“Congress will have to face defeat in all the 29 seats in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Lotus will bloom on all the seats in Madhya Pradesh,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alok Sharma along with MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav offered prayers at Curfew Wali Mata Temple in Bhopal.
Thanking the BJP, Sharma said, “BJP is such a party which has allowed a common worker like me to file nomination from Bhopal.”
“We have kept suggestion boxes for people in eight Lok Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. We are seeking suggestions from everyone, we are reaching intellectuals to seek their suggestions. After considering all of that, we will present an election manifesto for the people of the state,” he added.
Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said, “We will fulfil the Prime Minster’s dream of Bhopal. We are moving ahead amongst the public with PM Modi’s guarantees. There is no difference between what the BJP commits and does. Only PM Modi could abrogate article 370.”
Lashing out at the Congress for speaking lies, he said, “Congress stands for lies. Kamal Nath accidentally became CM. They said that loans of farmers will be waived off and people wil get unemployment allowance but nothing happened.”
Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in four phases. Polling will also be held in the state on April 26, May 7 and May 13. The votes will be counted on June 4.
Bhopal will go to poll in the third phase on May 7 with eight other parliamentary seats in the state.
Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, making it the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved
