“When you gave us 300 plus…”: Amit Shah opens up on ‘400 paar’ slogan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, opened up on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Abki baar 400 paar’ slogan and highlighted the major achievements of the 10-year BJP’s rule after coming to power with a landslide victory.
He said when the party came to power by winning over 300 seats, it abolished Triple Talaq, abrogated Article 370, granted one-third reservation to women in Parliament and assemblies, brought One Rank One Pension and the grand Ram Mandir was constructed in Ayodhya.
Addressing a public meeting on Rajasthan’s Pali, Shah said, “The people of the country have made up their minds, of not making any mistake…’Ab ki baar 400 paar’.”
The Home Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the “biggest supporter” of reservation.
“Those who ask why we need 400-plus seats…I want to tell them, be it OBC, SC or ST, PM Modi is the biggest supporter of reservation,” he said.
“Congress asks, Why do we need 400 plus? When people gave us 300 plus, we abrogated Article 370, brought India’s economy to 5th position, we brought One Rank One Pension for the military personnel, ended triple talaq, gave 33 per cent reservation to women, implemented CAA, UCC and the biggest thing, when we got 300 plus seats, the grand temple for Ram Lalla was built in Ayodhya,” Shah added.
He further hit out at the Congress party over Article 370 and said that after the abrogation no stone pelting is happening in the valley now.
“Congress President says, what Rajasthan has to do with Jammu and Kashmir. He should check history, be it any state, whenever there has been an attack at the country’s border, soldiers from Rajasthan have laid their sacrifices,” the former BJP President said.
The 25 parliamentary constituencies of Rajasthan are polling in two phases. While polling for 12 seats concluded on Friday in the first phase. The remaining 13 seats in the state will be contested in the second phase on April 26.
In 2019, BJP registered a sweeping victory winning 24 out of 25 seats, while the remaining one seat was won by Rashtriya Loktrantrik Party candidate Hanuman Beniwal.
Earlier in the day, Amit Shah filed his nomination from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat. He was accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Shah, who is eyeing a second consecutive term, is pitted against Sonal Patel fielded by the Congress party.
The former BJP president won the 2019 elections with a huge margin of 5.55 lakh votes defeating Congress’ CJ Chavda, who later joined the BJP.
All 26 seats of Gujarat go to the polls in a single phase on May 7.
The BJP whitewashed in 2014 and 2019 general elections by winning all 26 constituencies in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, Amit Shah appealed the voters to vote in large numbers in the first phase of elections, adding that every vote of the public has the power to create a secure, developed, and self-reliant India.
“It is an important day today, as the first phase of voting is taking place in the country. I appeal to all the voters who are voting in this phase to vote in large numbers because every vote of yours has the power to create a secure, developed, and self-reliant India. Your vote is not only meant to determine the fate of a Lok Sabha or a candidate but also to shape a bright future for India,” Amit Shah posted on X.
The voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections concluded on Friday.
The second phase will be held on April 26 and the remaining phases will be May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1 accordingly. The last general elections in 2019 were also held in seven phases.
