ANI Photo | “Country is getting defamed”: BJP’s Suvendu Adhikar on law and order situation in Bengal after Bangladesh MP killing

Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari on Friday slammed the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government over the law and order situation in the state following the recent murder of a Bangladesh MP in Kolkata and a BJP worker in Nandigram.
Adhikari criticized the state’s law and order situation and claimed that the killings were a result of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government protecting criminals, and the police working for the TMC.
“Law and order situation is very bad in Bengal. Mamata government is protecting goons. Police are working for TMC which is why this is happening. The country is getting defamed,” Adhikari told ANI.
Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar who entered India on May 12, was last seen on the afternoon of May 13 when he went with friends to a home in Bidhannagar near Kolkata for a medical check-up. He was found dead in West Bengal’s Kolkata on Wednesday.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the killing of the Bangladeshi MP.
In a shocking revelation, the West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said that they have arrested one of the suspects in the Bangladesh MP killing case, who is a butcher by profession and had taken off all the meat of the Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar’s body and minced it to destroy his identity.
Sharing details of the accused, the police said, “The assailants brought a butcher named Jihad (alias Siam) from Mumbai. Jihad was living in Mumbai as an illegal intruder for many years. Two months ago, he was brought to Kolkata by an American citizen of Bangladesh origin, Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen. This Shaheen is the mastermind of this planned heinous murder.”
This accused has confessed that, on the orders of Akhtaruzzaman, he and four other Bangladeshi nationals had smothered and killed the MP in a flat, police said.
“Then they removed all the meat from the body in the flat and minced the meat to destroy his identity and then they put everything in a polythene pack. They also chopped the bones into small pieces. Then take those packets out of the flat and dropped them around Kolkata and the surrounding areas using different modes of transport,” the police said in a statement on Thursday.
A CID delegation went to Krishnamati Khal area of Bhandar in search of the remains of Anwarul Azim Anna. The CID came to know this after interrogating Zuber, the app cab driver in the murder.
