ANI Photo | “In Hyderabad, you have to take the burden of triple R tax”: PM Modi targets Congress, AIMIM

In a veiled dig at Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that people in the state have to take the burden of double ‘R’ tax.
“Since the time the Congress has come to power in Telangana, there has been discussion on double ‘R’ tax. One ‘R’ is for Telangana, and the other is for Delhi. Both of them together have made Hyderabad and Telangana into an ATM…”
PM Modi said that people in the city have to bear the burden of “razakar” tax as well.
“Here in Hyderabad, you have to take the burden of triple R tax. Here one R is for Razakars. How this Razakar tax functions is visible in Old Hyderabad. The supporter of Congress and BRS and Majlis MP who has been in power for a long time, has not even given basic facilities to people,” PM Modi
PM Modi slammed the Congress on Friday giving an elaborate description of the “idea of India” at a public meeting in Hyderabad days after former Congress advisor Sam Pitroda’s comments caused furore in the country.
“The Congress which has always seen the country through foreign lenses has no idea about India. The idea of India means the country’s 1000 years-old cultural history, it means Satyamev Jayate, Ahimsa paramo dharma, acharya paramo dharma…I love my country that has given birth to us more than heaven. These were the words of Lord Ram. This idea of India is not merely limited to beliefs but is an empowered identity of our country…,” PM Modi said at Hyderabad.
“Today, the Idea of India is ‘International Day of Yoga’, it is the vision of ‘One Earth One Family One Future’, it is the idea of ‘One Sun, One Earth, One Grid’, it is the ‘Shiv Shakti point’ on the moon, the idea of India means ‘Mother of Democracy’, the idea of India means ‘ Justice to all, appeasement to none’…,” he continued.
Taking a swipe at the Congress, the Prime Minister said that on the day of the release of election results, those who are against the country, opposed to Atmanirbhar Bharat, Citizenship Amendment Act, Uniform Cilvil Code and other such issues that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands for will be defeated.
“The results on June 4 is clear. On June 4, the country will win, the resolve of the 140 crore Indians will win and those who are against Bharat will be defeated. On June 4, those opposed to Atmanirbhar Bharat will lose, those opposed to CAA, Uniform Civil Code will lose. On June 4, those speaking on vote jihad, supporters of Article 370, Triple Talaq, corruption, appeasement will lose,” PM Modi said.
Lashing out at the opposition parties over corruption, PM Modi questioned whether such parties can benefit the people of Telangana.
“Hyderabad is a solution city. The solution to every problem is found here. Can India move forward with a problem like corruption? Can those parties that practice scams amounting to crores lead India? Can those parties that ignore aspiration of youths build the future of the country? Can those politcal parties which smash the dreams of middle class do you good? Can those parties who first find out the potential of corruption in every project build modern infrastructure?” the Prime Minister said.
Pointing out that the BJP government has led the country to developed into a digital power, fintech power and a start-up power, PM Modi said that people can solve the problem of corruption through their vote.
“Only you can solve these problems through your vote. When you voted for the BJP-NDA, India started working on solutions to its decades-old problems. We are seeing the results today. Today India is a digital power, fintech power, start-up power, fifth largest economy, space power. This is Modi’s track record,” the Prime Minister said.
Hitting out at the Congress for allegedly being soft towards terrorirsts, PM Modi said, “What is Congress track record? Looting, appeasement, dynasty first, soft attitude towards terrorists.”
Comparing the times of the Congress with that of his tenure, the Prime Minister said that incidents of bomb blasts were common during the times of the Congress, but that is not the case now.
“10 years back there was an incident of serial bomb blasts in Dilsukhnagar. During the time of the Congress, news of such incidents was very common. If a family goes out to eat, goes to watch movies in the theatre, travelling by bus blasts used to happen. Do you hear of such incidents now?” PM Modi said.
Lashing out at the Congress for being against the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, PM Modi said, “The Congress and the INDIA bloc believes that offering puja to Lord Ram is against the idea of India. Can you accept this?”
Hitting out at the Congress as well as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) which had been in power in Telangana since its formation until recently, PM Modi said that the central government has decided to celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day every year.
“To appease their vote bank, neither Congress nor the BRS want to celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day. BJP has decided to rid Hyderabad of this fear. The Central government has decided that every year on 17 September, Hyderabad Liberation Day will be celebrated,” the Prime Minister said.
Voting for all 17 seats in Telangana will take place on May 13 in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections
