Rajasthan Health officials are conducting state-level meetings because of cases of swine flu and leptospirosis in the state.
A Rajasthan Health Department official said that there are 17 active cases of swine flu in Jaipur and 21 in Sriganganagar. He said that the cases were mild and there was no requirement for hospitalisation.
Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, Director of the Rajasthan Health Department said, “424 samples were taken yesterday, of which only 7 tested positive. All these 7 cases are mild and are being managed at home. We keep conducting state-level meetings. There are 17 active cases in Jaipur and 21 in Sriganganagar.”
“The vulnerable group should wear masks and avoid travelling and if the problem persists for a long time, then they should get examined,” he added.
He further said that leptospirosis spreads from the urine of rodents.
“In 10 districts, its influence has been witnessed. There are 32 cases and no deaths have been reported. The precaution for this is proper hygiene. If there are rats in the storeroom and they urinate on an abandoned cold drink can, and if it is dispensed and re-used, then there are chances of the infection getting spread. There are 15 cases in Jaipur,” he added
