Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 22 informed that select people, with e-passes, will be allowed movement between districts in the state from April 25-27 as per Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines, amid the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Sarma said that patients, officer-goers or people stuck at different districts will be issued passes by district administration through electronic medium. “Patients who require medical attention and need to travel inter district can take permission for such travel. For the patients, these e-passes will be valid till the lockdown ends,” Sarma said.
He added that people stuck at non-home districts will also be allowed if they posses e-pass. For those with own vehicles, they need to take prior permission from deputy commissioner directly. For others, ASTC will run buses on April 25, 26 and 27 but for that people need to register through helpline number 104.
