Governor assures positive actions for revival of Nagaon Paper Mill
Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi assured a delegation of Kagajkal Majdoor Sangh of taking its demand to the Centre for the revival of Nagaon Paper Mill at Jagiroad in Morigaon district.
The four-member delegation representing Kagajkal Majdoor Sangh of Jagiroad Paper Mill, a unit of Hindustan Paper Corporation, met the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati last week and submitted a memorandum and sought his intervention for the revival of the paper mill.
Mukhi, while asking about the backdrop against which the paper mills in Jagiroad and Panchgram faced the closure, assured them to take the matter to the Centre to take positive actions and ensure their revival at the earliest possible time frame.
Responding to an assertion by the delegation that the finance ministry and the heavy industries and public enterprises ministry are well aware of the situations leading to the closure of the paper mills, Mukhi said that he would personally put in his words to the appropriate authority of both the ministries to work on a revival package.
