NRL pays Rs 99.9 crore as 2nd dividend to Assam Govt

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) on Tuesday presented a cheque of Rs 99.90 crore to Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the second interim dividend against the equity holding of 12.35 percent held by the state government in the company. The cheque was handed over by MD NRL SK Baruah at the chief minister’s office at Janata Bhawan.

With this payment, Assam government has received a total of Rs 145.31 crore from NRL as interim dividend for the financial year 2017-18. The interim dividend has been worked out on the basis of performance of the PSU company during the first nine months of the current financial year 2017-18.

The chief minister said that this amount received from NRL reflects the robust performance of the company and the company is setting a good example in contributing to the state’s economy.  He also hoped that NRL would continue to perform well through the dedication and hard-work of its employees in the coming days as well.
