Guwahati Foodie, a Facebook group of more than 1 lakh food lovers, organized their annual Guwahati Foodie Meet-up at Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba in Guwahati on Saturday. Around 50 food lovers, from across all walks of life, assembled for a discussion on the food scenario of the region, recipes, culinary practices, culture, life etc. over lunch at Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba.

The meet-up, supported by food delivery company Swiggy, also saw the unveiling of the new menu of Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba. The popular North Indian restaurant pepped up their vegetarian options in the new menu which will go well with the refreshed non-vegetarian options. Speaking on the occasion, Tapan Sinha, COO at Zing Restaurants Pvt Ltd, said, “Our esteemed customers wanted us to offer more vegetarian options. Through this new menu at Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba, we are paying equal attention to both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. To taste our new menu, and to celebrate the 1 lakh members of Guwahati Foodie, we are happy to host the members of the Facebook group here today.”

Some of the new additions to the menu are ‘Sev Tamatar Ki Sabzi’ from the highways of Rajasthan, ‘Buttery Chicken’ to counter the chilly winters, ‘Murgh Ghee Roast’ from the highways of Andra Pradesh and ‘Coffee Custard’ for those who like to drink coffee after their meal, we have done a twist in serving it in dessert style.

Speaking about the association with the Guwahati Foodie Annual Meet-up, Mayur Borsaikia, City Business Head of Swiggy Guwahati, said that the company is pleased to associate itself with a popular foodie group. “The love for food has brought all of us together here.
