Assamese feature film Astittwa (existence), by debutant director Mirza Arif Hazarika, is almost ready for its release across theatres in Assam.

Produced under the banner of Skyplex Motion Pictures International by Nazim Ahmed, the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction of this film was done by Mirza Arif Hazarika.

“Astittwa revolves around the story of a common person Lachit Hazarika, who depicts the common Assamese man and how he fights for his Astittwa. The story is quite unique and brings out few values of Assam which were otherwise forgotten. The film has a mixture of old and new faces which gives a great cocktail of performance,” said Hazarika, while speaking to The News Mill.

The protagonist Lachit Hazarika is played by Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika and will definitely mesmerise the audience with his natural acting. The most loved villain of Assamese films, Dinesh Das plays the bad man in the film.

Assamese action hero Brojen Bora of yester-years has made a comeback here.

Well known comic actor Siddhartha Mukherjee will be seen in a negative role. Apart from that, talented Lonishri Das, Durgashree Bora and Manuj Gogoi will appear in the character of Gayatri, Anita and Munna respectively.

Bibhash Sinha, Tansen of Local Kung Fu-fame, has played a vital role in this film. Among the other artists, Runumi Devi comes on silver screen for the first time along with Uddalak Yogi, Rohit Choudhury, Mahibur Rahman, Kuldeep Bora, Jyoti Shankar, Smriti Das, Rajib Kro along with many old and new faces.

“The film has only one song and has been composed by national award winner Tarali Sarma. Dony Hazarika has taken the responsibility of the background score and he is all set to entertain the audience with his magic tunes. Award winning cameraperson Nahid Ahmed handled the cinematography aspect of the film and has come up with some amazing frames which will be liked by all for sure,” said the director who is making his debut.

The editing is under the charge of Jhulan Krishna Mahanta. He was the editor of the recently released and the much loved ‘Calendar’ of which he was the associate director and screen-writer as well.

The film introduces stunt director duo Spandan and Bibhash, who has composed realistic fights and stunts with a mixture of mixed martial arts and street fighting style.
