Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has decided to continue the periodicity of 08048/08047 (Guwahati – Santragachi – Guwahati) weekly special train for another three trips from September 15 till September 30.
In order to clear the festive rush, the railway authorities decided to continue the service with existing timings, stoppages and composition.
“This extended service will help fulfill the demand of waiting list passengers in this route,” a statement from NF Railway said on September 11.
Train no 08047 (Santragachi – Guwahati) special will leave from Santragachi at 6 pm on all Fridays from September 15-29 to reach Guwahati at 3 pm on the next day.
In the return direction, train no 08048 (Guwahati – Santragachi) special will leave from Guwahati at 4:45 pm on all Saturdays from September 16-30 to reach Santragachi at 12:30 pm on the next day.
During it’s both ways journey, the special train will run via Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Cooch Behar, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampur Hat and Dankuni.
The details of stoppages and timings of this train are available in IRCTC website. “Passengers are requested to verify the details before undertaking their journey,” the statement further said.
