Guwahati’s Nazneen Rahman has ascended to the 14th global position in the Masters Mixed Doubles category for the 45+ age group, according to the latest rankings released by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on February 12. Rahman’s impressive jump of three positions from her previous ranking of 17th reflects her dedication and skill on the court.
Expressing her joy, Rahman shared, “It means a lot to keep climbing the ladder. I’m glad that I could continuously improve. I’m thankful to my partners for their support.” Alongside her global ranking, Rahman holds the 2nd position in the Asia/Oceania group and stands as the top-ranked player within India in her category. Additionally, her singles ranking has improved by 39 positions, placing her at 77th globally.
“This is definitely a morale booster for me. It will inspire me to keep working hard,” Nazneen Rahman added, reflecting on her achievements and future goals. She emphasized the values of sportsmanship and fair play, highlighting how the discipline required in tennis has positively influenced her personal and professional life.
In the recently concluded MT400 Meerut Tournament, Rahman showcased her prowess by clinching the women’s doubles 30+ title partnering with Nikunj Kamal. She also finished as the runner-up in the women’s singles 45+ category and secured the second position in the mixed doubles 45+ event. Prior to this, Rahman secured the mixed doubles title at the World Ranking Delhi Masters MT 400, displaying consistent high-level performance.
Nazneen Rahman‘s list of accomplishments includes victories in various ITF tournaments, including women’s singles and doubles titles in Guwahati and Darjeeling, respectively. She also achieved the runner-up position in mixed doubles at ITF Masters 400 in Muzzafarnagar in 2023. Internationally, she participated in the World Championships 2023 in Turkey, reaching the quarterfinals in mixed doubles, and captained the Indian women’s masters team in the World Championships 2022 in Portugal.
