Rajiv Gandhi University in Arunachal Pradesh attains 'A' grade accreditation from NAAC

Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), located in Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, has achieved an impressive 3.02 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) out of 4, earning an ‘A’ grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on March 15.

Saket Kushwaha, the vice-chancellor of RGU, expressed jubilation, stating, “This marks a significant milestone for the entire RGU community, showcasing the university’s unwavering commitment to excellence in higher education and the relentless pursuit of academic quality and standards. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders, solidifying RGU’s stature as a premier institution of higher learning, contributing to both Arunachal Pradesh and the nation.”

Acknowledging the support extended by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh towards the university’s development, Kushwaha emphasized the need to sustain this achievement, aiming for a higher ‘A++’ ranking in the future.

NT Rikam, the registrar of RGU, expressed delight at the prestigious accreditation, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and holistic development.

“We are immensely pleased to receive this esteemed accreditation from NAAC, which underscores our relentless dedication to providing top-notch education and fostering overall development at RGU,” Rikam remarked, extending gratitude to all stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the NAAC accreditation committee led by Utpal Bhattacharjee, Rajesh Chakrabarty and RC Parida, director of IQAC, for their concerted efforts.

The NAAC accreditation, a comprehensive evaluation of an institution’s academic infrastructure, governance, teaching-learning methodologies, student support services, and research endeavours, serves as a benchmark for quality assurance and continual enhancement in higher education.

The accreditation, valid until March 13, 2029, reaffirms RGU’s commitment to upholding the high standards set by NAAC and advancing the quality of education and research.

Earlier, a seven-member NAAC peer team conducted a thorough inspection of the university campus from February 27 to 29, subsequently submitting their observation report to NAAC.
